Started Taekwon-Do back in 1991 at the age of 9 years at Mangere Club. 1995 at the age of 12 I succeeded in attaining my Black Belt a huge achievement at a young age.  Once getting my Black belt I moved to train under Master Mc Phail and decided to became a member of the Auckland Demonstration Team performing demonstrations at various sports expos,  at a 1/2 time Warriors game and was honoured to demonstrate in front of General Choi Hong Hi when he came out to New Zealand. 1999 I decided it was time to go for my 2nd Dan………….trained hard and passed along with my father.

Over the years I have competed in numerous Regional and National Tournaments in New Zealand both as a Coloured Belt and Black Belt – back in the days when Auckland was just one team, not split into 2.  After training for so many years I decided a break from Taekwon-Do was needed – training off and on for the next few years.

2008 saw me become a member of the Tamaki Mt Wellington Taekwon-Do Club and back training in the sport/martial art that I was passionate about when I was a kid.  So much has changed over the years but that family bond Taekwon-Do gives you and that feeling of belonging somewhere is still there.  Its such a great pleasure to watch your students improve and become proud of what they have achieved – I look forward to creating the same enjoyment in training that I had when I was a coloured belt / Junior Black Belt and giving something back.
